Customer Review: great scissors, one minor defect

These inexpensive scissors are reasonably high quality and have some great features:
* They are dishwasher safe and come apart easily for cleaning but don't come apart accidentally.
* They are sharp and the leverage is good, making cutting easy.
* They have a built-in bottle opener and built-in screwdriver that are not perfect but serve in a pinch.
* They have a notch on one of the blades that holds rod-shaped things like flower stems in place for easy cutting.
* The notch also works well to cut the foil on wine bottles.
- Unfortunately the notch shortens the working length of the blades. Thus they can't quite make a two-inch cut in one step, which is mildly annoying when cutting 2" wide packing tape for example. For the same reason, they're not so good when you want to cover a long distance quickly, e.g. for cutting wrapping paper.
For me, the advantages of having the notch beat the drawbacks. For you it may be different, in which case maybe you want a pair of long-bladed scissors. Or get both kinds; scissors are cheap.
